Intellectual Property
We provide advice on the range of intellectual property rights including patents, trademarks, copyright, passing off, know-how and confidential information on both contentious and non-contentious issues and across a number of sectors such as the energy sector, food and drink, IT and manufacturing.
Our work in protecting intellectual property rights includes helping clients to obtain trademarks, advising on strategies to protect brands, maintain the secrecy of their valuable know-how and confidential information, and protecting it through the use of confidentiality agreements and NDAs. We also support our clients in negotiating R&D contracts, joint industry projects and commercial contracts for similar initiatives for the development of technology to ensure that their rights are properly protected.
We regularly advise our clients on the enforcement of these rights which is crucial to maintaining the value of their intellectual property. We can help our clients formulate enforcement strategies including litigation against third parties for infringement.
We support our clients in the commercial exploitation of their intellectual property rights by advising on the sale of technology and related patents, know-how and other intellectual property rights – as well as licensing of intellectual property in key business areas including technology for the oil and gas sector, through to trade marks in food and drink and the software in the IT sector.
