Powers of Attorney - Updated Law Society Guidance
- Details
There has been a recent update to Law Society of Scotland guidance regarding Powers of Attorney
While Powers of Attorney ordinarily need to be signed in the presence of a Solicitor or a Doctor, recent Law Society of Scotland guidance has confirmed that this can now be done by way of video conference, meaning that Powers of Attorney can still be signed, registered and made available for use, where required.
Our Private Client team continue to be able to assist clients with their estate planning during these difficult times. The systems and technology we have in place to facilitate remote working allow our solicitors to work with you to ensure that all normal safeguards are in place prior to signature, calling upon trusted family or friends to assist with technology where appropriate.
Measures are in place to ensure that Wills, Powers of Attorney and Living Wills can be prepared and signed quickly and we can discuss matters either over the phone, by email or by video conference.
